I have no idea how this series [b:Waking the Destroya The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys 5|18746710|Waking the Destroya! (The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, #5)|Gerard Way|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1383333728s/18746710.jpg|26629965] is going to end within the next couple of issues. There are so many themes and ends still floating around. And, quite honestly, I don’t want it to end anytime soon. Not that I want it to drag on, but I’m concerned I will be left with too many questions.
Fair warning – There be spoilers ahead…
I also was so sad with Cola. His death was so abrupt and felt so unnecessary and ill-timed. I wonder, though, if that wasn’t part of the point. Death frequently is all of those, especially in times and situations of revolution.
The Phoenix Witch’s conversation with The Girl about her future choices is interesting. I am partial to the presentation of the choice between giving life and taking life, as either choice is fraught and not guaranteed to be the best.
I’m looking forward to what The Girl decides to do with the power she seems to contain. And I’m even more interested in what Blue and Korse will decide to do and how their choices will intersect with all the other major decisions in play.
Next issue is supposed to wrap all. I hope that the story isn’t hurried as a sacrifice to the issue number. I would rather read more issues of a very good story than have it constrained and diminish.
